A New Parish Officially Inaugurated (Our Lady of The Rosary Catholic Parish Ridgeways)

On Sunday 13 th January 2019, His Eminence Cardinal John Njue inaugurated Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic church to become a fully fledged parish. The church was elevated to parish status on 16 th August 2018 by His Eminence pending official inauguration.

Our Lady of the Rosary has been an outstation of St. Francis Xavier Parklands but due to the growing population of Catholic faithful, there was a need to establish a new Parish around Ridgeways area and beyond. “These Christians need residential Priests for efficient and effective pastoral care,” said his Eminence while opening the new parish.

During the Homily, His Eminence called for peace love and unity within the church, home, small Christian communities and in the whole country. “A moment like this is the moment to manifest our unity that is why I keep insisting let us pray for unity in the family, small Christian communities and in the church”.

The president His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy Dr. William Ruto also joined the joyous faithful in celebrating this occasion and echoed the message from the Cardinal citing that when we unite as a country nothing is impossible giving the example of the beautiful church (Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church) that was built because of unity amongst the Christians of Ridgeways.
