This year’s celebration of the annual Archdiocesan Pontifical Missionary Childhood (PMC) Mass was held at the St. Mary’s Msongari grounds with more than 50,000 children from the 114 parishes in attendance.
This event, special of its kind was graced by two bishops. His Eminence John Cardinal Njue, the emeritus Archbishop and His Grace Philip Anyolo.
In the homily, His Grace urged the children to grow knowing God and obey their parents as the ten commandments commands them to do. “You are as many as the stars in the sky. Every one of you is a Star that shines brightly seeking God. Just like the Star in Bethlehem guided the Shepherds and the Wise Men to Christ, may you also be the light that shines bright in search of Christ for the Church.” He spoke.
In a colorful presentation by the Administration Police Band the PMC Children were entertained and balloons released in the air marking the launch of the groups’ 2022 theme: We are the church, together we walk.
The PMC Coordinator Fr. Moses Kago in his speech, encouraged the children to live out their theme by walking together as one and especially bringing those children who are not yet in Church.
‘Watoto wa utoto, wa mtoto yesu’ a take home for the children from the archbishop paused a reflection to all present urging them to be like children in seeking the Kingdom of God by loving Christ and the Church and by following His ways.
As the church continues to grow, this group continues to be an unshakable force in the Church in their commendable huge numbers and in their active participation in the Church activities.
