Servant Leadership; Kerwa Parish train their leaders to serve
A leader is a servant of the led, ….”as Jesus washed the disciples feet in John 13:14, so too all leaders should be ready to serve others in church with humility and sacrifice”, said Fr. Boniface as he delivered his seminar session to the Parish leaders.
On Saturday 12th March 2022, St. Joseph Parish, Kerwa called all leaders for a leadership seminar. More than 40 leaders drawn from the Small Christian Communities and Associations had a fruitful half day seminar session facilitated by Fr. Boniface of Kariokor Parish, Nairobi and Madam Felister Julius from Tanzania.
Leaders were urged to be more vibrant in serving in various positions they have been called to serve. Madam Felister added that a leader starts leadership from his/her family. He/she should be led by the spirit by spending more time in prayer and reading the word of God. This is the way to overcome leadership challenges.
Fr. Boniface emphasized that leaders must be committed to service so that they are good examples to the Christians. They should have a disciplined prayer life, with a clearly defined mission for the Christians they are leading, love empowering others, evangelize with integrity and maintain a special relationship with the Mother of our Lord.
While concluding, Fr. Boniface challenged the leaders to be in the front line in tithing faithfully so as to experience the blessings that come along with it. Tithing enable Parishes to finance their development and spiritual activities.
May we all be servant leaders!!
