YOUNG CATHOLIC ADULTS (YCA) CELEBRATE THEIR ANNUAL MASS
Young Catholic Adults (YCA) have held their annual Mass at Blessed Sacrament, Buruburu. The theme to this year’s celebration was ‘Living in the world as vessels of Christ’s peace.’
Fr. Daniel Omondi while speaking to the youth remarked on the challenges faced by the young people in the current times. “The life we live today is harder than it was before. We need to trust in God more and not live in fear and anxiety. Hence the high rates of mental health related issues. With the right focus on God, things will be okay. Not forgetting that with determination and the right attitude you can survive in this world,” he said.
The YCA also used this opportunity to gift the outgoing Youth Chaplain Fr. Edwin Hunja. Fr. Hunja who had been the chaplain for more than ten years and was instrumental in starting the association thanked the group for their cooperation during the time he has been their chaplain. Fr. Victor Mbuthia takes over from Fr. Hunja assisted by Fr. Dominic Mwangi.
The colorful Mass was animated by hundreds of youths from the 14 deaneries in the archdiocese. The Archbishop Emeritus, John Cardinal Njue led the Mass celebration in the presence of scores of chaplain priests. He encouraged the youth to bring God closer in their lives for a true manifestation of His promises to them to be revealed as they seek various paths in life.
