LEGIONARIES CELEBRATE EDEL QUINN’S ANNIVERSARY
The Legion of Mary movement members have been urged to emulate Venerable Edel Quinn in their lives and to be persistent in prayers for her beatification. This call was made by Bishop George Muthaka of the Diocese of Garissa during the Mass celebration of her 79th death anniversary held at St. Mary’s Msongari grounds.
In the homily, His Lordship stated three qualities to be emulated from Edel Quinn; Christians are to have a greater love and devotion for God even in adversities, they are to participate in the adoration of the Eucharist as a prayer to God and most of all to have a great love for Mother Mary as their link to Christ.
Those participating from Uganda, Tanzania and Malawi celebrated in jubilation with their fellow counterparts in Kenya who came in huge numbers. Colorful dances as well as the exchange of jargon carried the day with each team willing to learn from the other in the opportunity presented through faith.
Fr. Boniface Kariuki the movement’s Chaplain also called on legionaries to be consistent and persistent in prayers for the Venerable Edel Quinn to be beatified.
