ARCHDIOCESE OF NAIROBI TRAINS LITURGICAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Over 60 members of the parish Liturgical Committee from zone D were trained on liturgical catechesis and formation on the liturgical discipline of the Archdiocese of Nairobi. The training which took place at the Cardinal Otunga Plaza was conducted by Fr. Bernard Kabiu, the Liturgy Coordinator of the Archdiocese of Nairobi. This training aims to address the gaps identified during the Synodal process.
Fr. Bernard emphasized on the critical importance of understanding and correctly implementing the liturgy of the Catholic Church. The training focused not only on the liturgical proceedings but also on the role of these committees in maintaining the essence and sanctity of the Church’s practices.
The training, ongoing since September, has systematically empowered committee members from various zones across the archdiocese, culminating in this latest session.
Fr. Bernard expressed his optimism about the positive impact this training has had on the liturgical services across the Archdiocese of Nairobi and the positive feedback he has been receiving from the clergy. He stressed that the sessions are designed to ensure the wisdom of the clergy guides the celebrations and that the congregation’s preparation is thorough and in line with the church’s teachings.
The Archdiocese plans to conduct follow-up sessions and provide ongoing support to the committee members.
