ARCHBISHOP PHILIP ANYOLO ORDAINS FIVE CANDIDATES TO PRIESTHOOD
The Archdiocese of Nairobi has been blessed with five diocesan priests. This happened during an ordination ceremony of the five candidates to priesthood and five others to diaconate held at the Holy Family Minor Basilica.
In the homily, Rt. Rev Simon Peter Kamomoe while delivering the homily, noted their youthfulness stating it is an added addition to the clergy in the ministry especially in the current times where ministering to the young people is most needed with the ongoing ‘Gen Z’ protests.
“We need to have a new approach in evangelization to ensure no one is left out. By the tremendous powers given to you through the Sacrament of Holy Orders, help the young generation to know the will of God, to pursue God, and to be well-guided for we all need guidance,” he said. “Help us address them in places we have failed as an entity. Identify the gaps in the body of Christ and enrich it.” He continued.
His Grace, Archbishop Philip Anyolo challenged them in their new apostolate, “In your youthfulness be leaders who can be emulated. “Choose the path of Jesus Christ and not your highway,” he said.
