THE MISSIONARY YOUTH MOVEMENT ANNUAL MASS
The members of the Missionary Youth Movement in the Archdiocese of Nairobi have been urged to hold on to faith with a strong conviction amidst tough times noting their destiny could change. This was said by Bishop Wallace Ng’ang’a the Auxiliary Bishop of Nairobi during the MYM annual Mass held at St. Mary’s Msongari grounds.
In the homily, Bishop Wallace encouraged the youth to be people of faith. “A person of faith can change their destiny by believing in the word of God; their prayers are answered even when there is no immediate evidence,” he said. He urged the youth to be diligent and strive for excellence in their endeavors, cautioning them against relying on their parents’ wealth. “What your parents have is theirs; focus on building what will be yours for the future. Life is unpredictable, and no one knows what tomorrow holds,” he advised.
Addressing the crowd of over 15,000 youths gathered on the sacred grounds, Bishop Wallace touched on various topics covered during the week-long formation, including the importance of identity. He encouraged the young people to protect their identity, especially their names, as they are a reflection of who they are and what they represent in society.
This message comes after a 7-day seminar held by the archdiocesan youth office as part of the formation program for the MYM. The aim of this program is to instil Christian values in the minds of the youth, shaping their thinking as they navigate their teenage years.
