ARCHDIOCESE OF NAIROBI CELEBRATES ITS FAMILY DAY
Thousands of Christian faithful in the Archdiocese of Nairobi gathered to celebrate the 15th Archdiocesan Family Day, held at St. Mary’s Msongari grounds. The occasion was graced by notable guests, including His Lordship Cleophas Oseso of the Diocese of Nakuru, along with numerous priests, men, and women religious from the Archdiocese.
While delivering the sermon, His Grace, Philip Anyolo, called on all to “renew the enthusiasm of your faith, live it first and foremost in your families, and then engage both personally and communally in the life and mission of the Church.” He further urged Christians to reflect on deeper liturgical involvement by being in communion with God, especially by being mindful of one another and acting as their brother’s keeper—not only with those related by blood but also with those who may seem least deserving.
During the celebrations, the Family Life Department, led by His Lordship Simon Peter Kamomoe, launched a premarital guidance book on marriage. This book aims to assist chaplains in implementing marriage preparation programs in parishes throughout the diocese.
This annual event provides an opportunity for Christians to thank God for the harvest of the year’s first quarter. His Grace, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Nairobi, expressed gratitude to the faithful for their continued financial support, which plays a crucial role in meeting the various needs of the diocese.
