BISHOP WALLACE NG’ANG’A PRESIDES OVER GRADUATION MASS FOR MYM ANIMATORS
Bishop Wallace Ng’ang’a, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate, presided over the Graduation Celebration Mass for more than 700 MYM animators at Queen of Apostles Seminary Church, Ruaraka.
In his address, Bishop Wallace emphasized the animators’ crucial role in modeling and guiding young people in faith and service. This graduation marked the completion of a six-month intensive capacity-building training program, a collaborative effort between the Archdiocesan Youth Office and the Uniservitate Service Learning Africa Hub program at Tangaza University.
Clearly elated by the team’s commitment to serving the Church and children with renewed energy, Bishop Wallace encouraged them, saying, “Be proud of this achievement today. It is the beginning of great things, and with great things come challenges. May they not prevent you from doing your best.”
He urged the animators to embrace sincerity and dedication in their service, reminding them that while serving the Church is valuable, “it is not enough.” True commitment requires actively engaging with young people in parishes and fostering their spiritual growth.
Bishop Wallace also highlighted the importance of understanding child protection policies, ensuring that children are safeguarded in accordance with both government and Church regulations. He emphasized the need for animators to follow proper procedures in their roles, as these measures are essential for grounding children in matters of faith.
Furthermore, he encouraged the animators to exercise patience in dealing with children, especially in today’s ever-changing world. With this commissioning, they embark on a journey of service, equipped with renewed strength and a deeper commitment to shaping the spiritual lives of the youth.
