Behold I Am the Handmaid of the Lord. May It Be Done To Me According To Your Word
More than 14,000 members of the Catholic Women Association congregated at the St. Mary’s Msongari grounds to celebrate the Annunciation of the Lord.
Mass was led by His Eminence John Cardinal Njue who was also the main celebrant.
During the Homily His Eminence stressed on the importance of a family unit, “a family is the basic unit of the Church and hence as women, we are blessed with the gift of uniting the family together in times of hardship and in times of delight.”
Over 2,000 women were also commissioned to be CWA members whom His Eminence highlighted as a blessing to the church and the society at large and also urged them to go and spread the word everywhere they go. This was the highest number of women commissioned CWA members at one go.
Speaking at the same event Fr. Jude Waweru, the Archdiocesan CWA chaplain, encouraged women to do all things through Christ, “when our lives point to Christ through our words and deeds, we too will be an example worth following,” added Fr. Waweru.
The newly elected Executive Archdiocesan team also took an oath of office and also received blessings from His Eminence.
