Catholic Men from the Archdiocese of Nairobi have been urged to fully own the St. Joseph Technical Institute Project in Kamulu for its quick completion. This was said by Mr. Martin Mburu-chairman of the technical committee during the celebration of their patron saint Joseph held in Kamulu.
“We are making a statement that men in the Archdiocese can be counted on to move their project by owning it. For us to be successful in this project we need to feel its pain. Hot men go for hot pursuits and in pain we leave a legacy for our children,” he bellowed.
The largely attended event was first of its kind for this ecclesial group in the Archdiocese to be held at the construction site of the Technical Institute especially during the celebration of the Solemnity of St. Joseph. Over 4,000 men were in attendance together with 14 deanery chaplains to meet the day’s objective of raising sh.300 million for the project.
Speaking to the men, bishop Kamau urged them to be persistent and consistent with the project saying, “There will be joys and sorrows in the work God calls us to do but He will never give us a responsibility without guidance. Accept the challenge given, as Joseph did when raising Christ. Where there is no sacrifice there is no life.”
The colorful Mass was led by bishop David Kamau and a host of priests. After the Mass, a funds raiser was held.
The CMA chaplain, Fr. Stephen Mbugua implored the men to keep pushing to attain the goals set. “We can only go as far as you want us to go,” he exclaimed.
The Catholic Men Association is not only engaged in the St. Joseph’s technical project but also the social development program (S.D.P) launched in 2014 meant to empower the catholic men and the beacon boys programme started in 2017 which empowers and mentors the boy child.
Once completed, St. Joseph Technical Institute in Kamulu will offer a mix of carefully selected and market-oriented courses set upon strong catholic moral and ethical background.
