“THE WORLD OF CHOICE IS INCREASING, HELP CHRISTIANS TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES,” CATECHISTS IMPLORED.
Catechists in the Archdiocese of Nairobi have been reminded to help Christians in making the right choices in life through the catechism classes they carry out in their respective parishes. This call was made by Archbishop Philip Anyolo during the catechist’s annual Mass held at Holy Trinity Parish, Kariobangi.
He said, “The world of choice is increasing. We are tasked with helping people make the right decision in the church. The right to choose Christ for in Christ there is light and eternal life.”
This call comes at a time when serious discussions around the LGBTQ community are on the table not only for the Church but also in political circles. This discussion has placed emphasis on the need to teach and remind society of its Christian values and morals.
Catechists are mandated to educate Christians, prepare candidates and their families for the sacraments of Christian initiation as well as help with retreats and other meetings connected with catechesis.
