CONSECRATION OF ST. TERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH N.Y.S. HEADQUARTERS
St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church at the Kenya National Youth Service (N.Y.S.) headquarters was opened and consecrated in a Mass led by John Cardinal Njue, the Emeritus Archbishop of Nairobi.
Fr. Peter Kimani, the National Prisons chaplain, while delivering his homily, reflected on the hard, yet fulfilling five-year journey of constructing the church. Fr. Kimani highlighted that the church’s presence goes beyond being just a physical structure; it represents the embodiment of God’s presence and stands as a constant reminder to the Christian community of their duty to manifest this divine presence in their daily lives and ministries.
Fr. Kimani urged the congregation to dedicate themselves to fostering unity and creating a welcoming environment for worship and prayer. He emphasized that this sacred space serves as a meeting point between God and His people, a place where the faithful can come together as a family in God’s presence.
The consecration of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church is thus a testament to the enduring faith and commitment of the Christian community at the N.Y.S. guided by Fr. Josh Njenga – Chaplain National Youth Service, marking a significant milestone in their spiritual journey.
