WALKING TOGETHER IN FAITH: CELEBRATING THE JUBILEE YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE
Today, members of consecrated life gathered at Regina Caeli Parish, Karen, for a walk and Eucharistic celebration aimed at raising awareness and preparing for the Jubilee Year of Consecrated Life 2025. The event was part of a larger effort to highlight the vital role of consecrated persons in the Church and society, bringing together religious communities from across the Archdiocese of Nairobi.
The walk, flagged off by Archbishop Philip Anyolo, was a symbolic act of unity and shared mission. It emphasized the gift of consecrated life within the Church, the Archdiocese of Nairobi, and in communion with the universal Church. Stretching through the streets of Karen, the procession culminated at Regina Caeli Parish with a vibrant Eucharistic celebration led by Bishop Simon Peter Kamomoe.
In his homily, Bishop Kamomoe challenged consecrated persons to bear spiritual fruit in their lives and ministries. Drawing inspiration from the Jubilee theme based on Leviticus 25, he emphasized the sacred call to renewal, reconciliation, and mercy. He reminded attendees of the Church’s mission to foster healing and unity within the faith community and society at large, urging them to be ambassadors of these values.
