CHRISTIANS PARTICIPATE IN ‘WALK OF HOPE’ TO PROMOTE MENTAL WELLNESS FOR THE JUBILEE YEAR OF PRAYER 2025
Christians from St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Kerwa accompanied by their parish priest, took part in a ‘Walk of Hope’ to raise awareness about the Jubilee Year of Prayer and advocate for mental wellness within the community.
The walk was organized by St. Joseph Catholic Parish Kerwa Hospital in collaboration with the Rotaract Club and the Mindful Miles Initiative. This initiative aims to highlight the importance of mental health and well-being, emphasizing the need for open conversations about mental health challenges.
During the event, Fr. Vitalis Were, the parish priest, underscored the significance of mental well-being, urging Christians to embrace hope, particularly during this Jubilee year. He stressed the need for collective efforts in spreading hope and fostering a supportive community environment.
Under the tagline ‘Mindful Miles, Tunaspread Smiles, the initiative reinforced the message that hope and care for one another can uplift individuals facing mental health struggles. Organizers emphasized the urgent need to address the rising cases of suicide and the importance of creating an open forum for discussions on mental health in society.
The Walk of Hope served as a call to action for increased mental health awareness, encouraging individuals to support those in distress and promote a culture of understanding and compassion.
