CWA CELEBRATES THE FEAST OF THE ANNUNCIATION ACROSS THE ARCHDIOCESE
The Catholic Women Association (CWA) of the Archdiocese of Nairobi marked the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord with celebrations held across all 16 deaneries. In the Central Deanery, members gathered at Don Bosco Parish, Upper Hill, for a day of prayer, reflection, and fellowship.
The day began with a spiritual talk on Service and Pilgrims of Hope delivered by Rev. Fr. Christopher Letikilit, a law student at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Fr. Letikilit encouraged the women to serve others with love, to be witnesses of faith and hope within their communities, and to renew their faith, especially in moments of difficulty. He reminded them that the Jubilee Year offers a special opportunity to embrace hope and experience the grace and renewal it brings, particularly within families.
Expounding on the Jubilee theme, Fr. Letikilit shared deeper insights into the meaning of hope. He spoke of hope as something that calls us to action, not passivity—a force that moves believers to respond with purpose. He described hope as a bridge to the future, connecting the present to God’s promises. He also highlighted the interconnection between hope and faith, noting that a woman of deep faith naturally hopes for a brighter path for her family. Lastly, he spoke of the transformative link between hope and love, describing it as sacred and life-giving.
The celebration concluded with Holy Mass, presided over by the Deanery Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Jovince Okoth, together with other priests who joined the women in prayer and thanksgiving.
