13TH CATHOLIC EDUCATION WALK HELD
Catholic education institutions from across the Archdiocese of Nairobi came together for the 13th edition of the annual Catholic Education Walk, organized by the Archdiocesan Education Office.
The walk was officially flagged off by Dr. Hillary Wachinga, CEO of Kenya Reinsurance Corporation Limited, alongside Rev. Fr. Francis Kiarie, Education Secretary of the Archdiocese of Nairobi.
Held under this year’s theme, “Catholic Education: Hub of Faith for the Learners as Pilgrims of Hope,” the walk aims to raise funds to support bright but financially disadvantaged students within the Archdiocese.
Students, pupils, parents, teachers, and other partners participated in the 8-kilometer walk, which was simultaneously conducted across eight designated routes in Nairobi and Kiambu counties. The collective effort raised approximately KSh 32 million.
The funds will be channeled through the Archdiocesan Education Office to support various activities and to cover school fees for over 400 learners enrolled in 107 Catholic-sponsored schools within the Archdiocese.
Rev. Fr. Francis Kiarie, Archdiocese of Nairobi Education Secretary thanked all participants and donors for their continued commitment to Catholic education and for walking in solidarity with the students they aim to uplift.
