ARCHDIOCESAN Y.S.C HOLDS ANNUAL MASS
The Youth Serving Christ (Y.S.C) held a vibrant celebration of their Annual Mass at the St. Mary’s Msongari grounds, drawing youth from across the Archdiocese in a spirit of faith, unity, and reflection.
Presiding over the Mass, Bishop Simon Peter Kamomoe delivered a thought-provoking homily centered on the theme of mental health and spiritual well-being. He urged the young faithful to take care of their mental health by recognizing their personal limits and avoiding choices that could lead to harm.
“May the Holy Spirit help us know the value of the sacraments and especially of penance, which is key for our mental health. Guilty people are not happy but afraid. This is no way to live as Christians,” Bishop Kamomoe said. He emphasized the need for accountability, encouraging the youth to take responsibility for their actions, calling it “the right thing to do.”
The bishop also highlighted the importance of embracing the sacraments of the Church, particularly penance and reconciliation, noting their crucial role in nurturing both spiritual and emotional well-being.
Before the liturgy, the Archdiocesan Youth Chaplain led the congregation in a powerful talk, urging the youth to be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, especially in facing life’s challenges and making vital decisions.
The event was marked by joyful music, prayer, and a strong sense of community as they also held a cultural fashion show as they engaged in Christ.
