FOUR NEW PRIESTS IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF NAIROBI
Four new priests were ordained today at the Holy Family Minor Basilica in Nairobi, during a Mass led by Archbishop Philip Anyolo. The Mass was concelebrated by Bishop David Kamau, Bishop Simon Peter Kamomoe, Cardinal John Njue (Archbishop Emeritus of Nairobi), and scores of priests. Religious men and women and Christians were also in attendance.
During the homily, Bishop David Kamau spoke directly to the new priests, reminding them about the heart of their mission. “The primary task of a priest is to return people to God, but you must first be walking in that direction yourselves,” he said, encouraging them to stay rooted in prayer and live as true followers of Christ.
Archbishop Anyolo also gave words of encouragement, urging the new priests to live out their ministry with humility, forgiveness, and obedience. “Be men who are never bitter but always hopeful,” he told them, encouraging them to reflect the heart of the Good Shepherd in everything they do.
The four newly ordained priests were assigned to serve in various parishes within the Archdiocese:
- Fr. John Gichiri – Holy Rosary Catholic Parish, Ikinu
- Fr. Kelvin Okeyo – Martyrs of Uganda, Gatundu Parish
- Fr. Michael Kamunyu – Our Lady of Fatima, Kiriko Parish
- Fr. Crispus Mutugu – Nativity of Our Lord, Kagwe Parish
