DEDICATION AND CONSECRATION OF ST. PAUL CHURCH, GACHORORO
St. Paul Catholic Church, Gachororo—an outstation of St. Augustine Juja Parish—has been officially consecrated. The celebration was marked by a special Mass led by Bishop Simon Peter Kamomoe, during which 370 candidates also received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
In the homily, Bishop Kamomoe urged the faithful and especially the confirmands to stand firm in their faith just like St. Paul did, even amid life’s adversities. “We are who we are because faith in God keeps us strong, knowing He will always be faithful,” he said, encouraging the congregation to remain anchored in Christ.
The story of St. Paul Gachororo traces back to 1987, when a small group of believers gathered under St. Teresa Catholic Parish, Kalimoni, the then center for four Small Christian Communities (SCCs): Juja Farm, Nyacaba, Kalimoni, and Gachororo. Over the years, the community grew under the pastoral care of several priests, including Fr. Brendan O’Brien C.S.Sp, Fr. Pius Onyango C.S.Sp, Fr. Lawrence Njoroge, Fr. Francis Kiarie, Fr. Raphael Kibugi, and now Fr. Patrick Ndung’u.
The vision for a permanent church began taking shape in March 2019 under Fr. Raphael Kibugi’s leadership. In December 2023, stewardship was passed to Fr. Patrick Ndung’u, whose renewed energy and guidance propelled the project to completion.

This dedication of the church marks not just the completion of a building, but the fulfillment of a decades-long spiritual journey. It is now a home to over 700 Christians, 11 SCCs, and vibrant devotional groups.
