KALIMONI MISSION HOSPITAL LAUNCHES ITS STRATEGIC PLAN 2025–2030
Kalimoni Mission Hospital located in Juja Town has officially launched its Strategic Plan 2025–2030 in a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Philip Anyolo, and concelebrated by Fr. Samuel Mungai.
In the homily, the Archbishop encouraged the hospital staff to work with love, saying, “If you are doing it with love, God will do your work.” He affirmed that nurses and doctors are heroes not just during pandemics, but every single day in their service to life.
The new Strategic Plan outlines key focus areas that will guide the hospital in the next five years. These include enhancing the use of technology in service delivery, improving staff capacity, strengthening financial stability and sustainability, and fostering stronger partnerships and collaborations. Fr. Joseph Shijo is the new chaplain of the hospital.
Since its founding in 1934, Kalimoni Mission Hospital has continued to grow in service and impact. The Sisters of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus took over administration in 2000, leading to significant milestones including NHIF accreditation in 2008, the opening of a branch in Ruiru (later moved to Githurai), and a major boost in maternity services after the 2013 expansion. With the addition of a resident doctor in 2016 and full hospital registration in 2019, the hospital has earned recognition not for its size, but for the quality of care it offers.
