27 MEN COMMISSIONED INTO CATHOLIC MEN ASSOCIATION AT HOLY ROSARY PARISH WITEITHIE
Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Witeithie witnessed a momentous celebration as 27 members of the Catholic Men Association (CMA) were officially commissioned during a Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Wilfred Mwaura, the Assistant Father in Charge. This marked a historic milestone as they became the first cohort to be commissioned in the parish.
In the homily, Fr. Mwaura delivered a stark and moving message to the newly commissioned men, reminding them that true faith extends far beyond mere affiliation. He challenged them to move past any “sense of entitlement” that may come with their new title and to truly embody their Christian identity through action and humility.
“Being a Christian is more than just a name,” Fr. Mwaura stated. “We must reflect that the challenges we face in life make us better; they are not obstacles, but opportunities for growth.”
He further emphasized the universality of God’s love, cautioning against exclusion and urging the men to embrace everyone regardless of church or group affiliation. “God’s love is for everybody,” he noted. “Salvation requires effort, and humility opens the doors of heaven.”
He concluded by underscoring the paramount importance of humility. “Salvation needs some effort,” he said. “And of course, finally, we can say humility opens the doors of heaven. In everything that we do, we do with humility.”
The newly commissioned men were called to be men of faith, to live beyond the ordinary in hope, and compassion, especially during this Jubilee Year of Hope. They are tasked with serving others without prejudice and urged to become true witnesses of Christ within their families, parishes, and communities.
