ST. ANDREW PARISH, RIRONI DEDICATED AND OFFICIALLY OPENED.
Christians of St. Andrew Catholic Parish, Rironi, marked a significant milestone as their Church was officially dedicated in a solemn Holy Mass presided over by His Grace Archbishop Philip Anyolo.
In the homily, His Grace encouraged parishioners to embrace the church as their spiritual home, describing it as a place where all their spiritual needs are met. He called on the faithful to remain steadfast even in times of difficulty, emphasizing that caring for the Church is part of safeguarding Christ’s mission, a responsibility he said that had been entrusted to them because of their faithfulness.
“Live according to the teachings of the Church, for it is a sacred mystery where Christ continues to cleanse and restore His people, he said.”
The celebration also highlighted the parish’s rich history spanning 70 years. The roots of St. Andrew Church dates back to 1956, with a defining moment in 1958 when two families; Andrew Ng’ang’a and Njoro Gichini, donated a quarter acre of land to support the construction of the Church. The current Church building construction began on 15th November 2020.
In addition to the day’s celebrations, Christians also celebrated the parishs’ 10th year anniversary since its inauguration as a parish on 23 July 2016. It’s outstations are, St. Peter Mithiga and St. Maximilian Kolbe Gatimu.
