PMC ANIMATORS GATHER FOR ANNUAL MASS
Over 3000 Pontifical Missionary Childhood (PMC) animators drawn from all the 17 deaneries in the Archdiocese of Nairobi came together for their annual Mass held at Queen of Apostles Parish, Ruaraka. The celebration was presided over by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. George Muthaka of Garissa Diocese.
The church, filled to capacity, was vibrant with the animators expressing their faith through colorful liturgy marked by song and dance, reflecting on their role as faith animators for children.
In the homily, Bishop Muthaka underscored the vital role of animators in the mission of the Church, noting that their service is central to the formation of young Christians. He encouraged unity and collaboration, emphasizing that effective service is best achieved when people work together.
“We are all called to serve, but greater calling is fulfilled when we work together in unity,” he said. “Teaching children is not easy and it comes with many challenges, but it requires grace, patience and love to instill Christian values in them.”
He urged the animators to remain grounded in faith, reminding them that their work has a lasting impact on the Church and society. “The children you are shaping today are the foot soldiers of Christ. They will do great things in evangelization. Never doubt the importance of the work you are doing,” he added.
The animators also were taken through a mentorship session by the Archdiocesan Family Life Coordinator, Ms. Lilian Wairimu which focused on spiritual nourishment. They were encouraged to deepen their personal faith and mental health in order to positively influence the children under their care.
This year’s celebration was held under the theme, One in Christ, United in Mission.
