THOUSANDS OF PMC CHILDREN GATHER FOR THEIR ANNUAL MASS
More than 30,000 Pontifical Missionary Childhood Member (PMC) across the Archdiocese of Nairobi gathered at the St. Mary’s Msongari Grounds for their annual Mass which brings together all children in the archdiocese for thanksgiving and the opening of the missionary year.
The Mass was presided over by Archbishop Philip Anyolo and concelebrated by His Eminence, John Cardinal Njue, Monsignor Vincent Ouma Odundo from the Archdiocese of Kisumu, PMS Kenya National Director, Fr. Bonaventure Luchidio, deanery PMC Chaplain Priests and other Priests in the parishes of the Archdiocese.
In the homily, the Archdiocesan Pontifical Mission Societies Assistant Director, Fr. Francis Njoroge, reminded the children of their missionary responsibility. He urged them to live their motto, “Children helping children,” by supporting one another and witnessing Christ’s love in their daily lives.
The young participants were also encouraged to remain united in times of challenge, to work together, and to share God’s love with others. Rev. Fr. Calisto Nyangil, Archdiocesan PMS Director emphasized the importance of unity and missionary spirit among them as a foundation for Christian service and love for one another.
During the celebration, the PMC theme for the year, “One in Christ, United in Mission,” was officially launched. Archbishop Anyolo also blessed the PMC role models, whose mission is to guide and mentor younger members in faith and service.
