THE SILENT WORK OF FATHERHOOD: CMA CELEBRATES THE FEAST DAY OF ST. JOSEPH
The Catholic Men Association (CMA) members have been urged to remain faithful, reliable, and committed in their role as protectors and spiritual leaders within their families.
This call was made during the celebration of the Feast of Saint Joseph, the patron of the CMA, held at St. Joseph Technical School Kamulu.
The annual Mass was presided over by His Grace, Philip Anyolo and concelebrated by the Archdiocesan CMA chaplain Fr. Bernard Ndichu, alongside other clergy from the archdiocese.
In the homily, Archbishop Anyolo reflected on the life of St. Joseph, describing him as a model of humility, courage, and silent service within the Holy Family.
He emphasized that the way men respond to their role as fathers has a direct impact on the kind of society that is built.
“St. Joseph was a protector and guardian who carried out his mission with humility and obedience to God,” he said. “Even in challenging times, men must remain steadfast in both thought and action.”
He encouraged fathers to embrace their responsibilities with courage and integrity, noting that their mission, though demanding, is noble and essential to the well-being of families and the society.
His Grace also urged the faithful to seek God’s guidance in cultivating pure thoughts, words, and actions, rather than merely praying for relief from life’s challenges.
Speaking during the event, Fr. Bernard Ndichu, commended CMA members for their dedication, particularly in supporting the development of the proposed St. Joseph Technical Institute. He noted that their efforts are instrumental in shaping the future of young people by equipping them with practical skills.
During the celebrations, a new board of management was created for the technical institute.
The board was tasked with:
* Fast-tracking the operationalization of the institute
* Ensuring the vision of the school is realized
* Introducing courses that address societal challenges
* Aligning all programmes with the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework
The Archdiocesan Education Office, under the Education Secretary Fr. Francis Kiarie, was mandated to oversee the formal inauguration of the board in accordance with the Archdiocese of Nairobi Education Policy.
