CATHOLIC MEN URGED TO BECOME CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE AT ACMA SDP ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Over Five hundred members of the Catholic Men Association drawn from parishes across the Archdiocese of Nairobi, gathered at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church for the 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Archdiocesan Catholic Men Association Social Development Program (ACMA SDP), with leaders calling on them to become agents of transformation in their families and communities.
The event, organized under the theme: Champions of Change: Empowering Men to Transform Communities, brought together members of the Catholic Men Association (CMA), clergy and development partners in a joint initiative between Caritas Nairobi and CMA aimed at empowering men socially, spiritually and economically
The event began with Holy Mass led by His Grace, Most. Rev. Philip Anyolo, who challenged men to remain steadfast in faith and guided by justice, hope and christian values in their leadership roles.
In the homily, he encouraged members to uphold the Gospel values of charity, love and solidarity, noting that men have a vital responsibility in strengthening families and building morally upright communities.
“Men must remain rooted in faith and continue empowering their communities both socially and spiritually,” he said.
The AGM also featured a health and wellness session facilitated by Rev. Fr. Col. Dr. Moses Karanja, who emphasized the importance of holistic well-being among men, especially those serving in leadership and community development initiatives.
Speaking during the meeting, Caritas Nairobi Executive Director, Rev. Fr. Peter Kiarie underscored the important role men play in sustainable development. He explained that the Social Development Program seeks to equip members with leadership skills, character formation and economic empowerment tools that can create lasting transformation within households and society.

Participants were also encouraged to strengthen unity within the Church and actively engage in programs that promote family stability, responsible leadership and social development.
This AGM marked a decade of efforts aimed at empowering Catholic men to become active contributors in evangelization, economic empowerment and community transformation within the Archdiocese of Nairobi.
